Journalists from IGN have revealed Lilith’s return in the upcoming Diablo IV: Lord of Hatred expansion, confirming that one of the game’s central characters will reappear despite her defeat in the base game’s ending.

As part of its IGN First coverage, the outlet published an opening cutscene showing how Lilith re-enters the story. In the footage, she uses her demonic wings to catch the protagonist as they fall into the abyss.

Fan reaction has been largely positive, with many players expressing excitement about the return of the character and noting they expected her comeback.

Lilith’s Role in the Expansion

According to the revealed details, Lilith will act as an ally to players in their fight against Mephisto — her father. Following the events of the main game, she emphasizes her importance in the upcoming conflict:

In the broader narrative, Mephisto once again threatens Sanctuary by unleashing the forces of Hell. Players will need to join forces with both familiar allies and unexpected companions to stop him.

Release Date and Key Features

Diablo IV: Lord of Hatred is scheduled for release on April 28 across PC (Steam, Battle.net), PlayStation, and Xbox platforms.

Blizzard Entertainment has outlined several key additions in the expansion:

  • two playable classes — Paladin and Warlock

The expansion will be priced at $40, with the standard edition also including the previous add-on, Vessel of Hatred.
